“NEW OBJECTS ARE APPEARING oN THE HORIZON OF THE EXISTING,
OBJECTS CONTAINING FUNCTION AND POETICS, OBJECTS WHICH
SEEM TO INDICATE A DIFFERENT PATH, neither “ART” NOR “DESIGN”,
THAT CROSS CONSCIOUSLY AND RITUALLY OUR DAILY-LIFE”.

Two different cultures influence the works of the artist Guido Niest.
Born in Venezuela and having lived in different regions in Venezuela and Argentina, from Buenos Aires and Maracaibo to the rainforests in the Amazon, in 1979 thanks to the pleasure in communicating with people and having learned foreign languages, he had the possibility to know also the European culture.
Having lived and experienced two different cultures together with the studies of industrial design and the work he learned in Germany, gave him the base for the searching of his own form language, artistic identity and design philosophy.
The materialized results of the artist’s philosophy radiate an archaic symbolic power like the ancient idols of past civilizations.
The memories of a colourful nature and rich ornamental culture and art still influence now a days his creations with a very spontaneous, transparent and light design.
